Privacy Policy

Nothing about you as an individual. halfway.travel is a static site: pages are pre-built files, there are no accounts, no forms and no logins. The only measurement is the aggregate, anonymous counting described under "Analytics and tracking" below. The one channel that reaches us directly is the contact address, hello@halfway.travel, if you choose to write to it.

We set no cookies of our own. The Google Analytics tag described below sets first-party measurement cookies when it loads on the live site; that is its default behavior, not a choice we make per visitor. Some tool pages also remember your last inputs between visits using your browser's local storage, under keys prefixed ht: — for example a remembered home city on the calculator. Those keys live only in your browser, never leave your device, and clearing your browser storage removes them completely.

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure the site: page views, referrers, approximate country and city derived from your IP address, and clicks on outbound links — including the Kayak links, so we can tell which pages are actually useful. GA4 does not store IP addresses, and we enable no advertising features, no demographics reports, and no fingerprinting. The tag loads only on the production halfway.travel domain; local previews and saved copies of pages stay silent. Every page works fully with the script blocked, and Google's official opt-out browser add-on stops the measurement entirely. Beyond this tag, nothing else tracks you: no other pixels, no session recorders, no ad profiles. This section was written in the same release that added the tag — disclosure first remains the rule here.

Some pages link to Kayak for hotel and flight searches. Those links carry an affiliate tag (an aid parameter) so Kayak knows the search came from here; no information about you is appended, and nothing is sent until you click. The site is served from static hosting. Our host keeps standard access logs — IP addresses and requested files — as part of running any web server; we do not use them for tracking or profiling.

This is a general-audience travel-planning site with no accounts and no data collection from visitors of any age.

This page is versioned with the build and always shows the current terms. If the site's data practices change, this page changes in the same release.
